Shop OS · Bike & e-bike dealers

The board doesn't forget.

Every bike that comes through the door gets a ticket. Every ticket carries its own hours and its own parts. Nothing reaches the door again until it has been billed.

01 · Where the money goes

A shop doesn't lose money on bad work. It loses money on work nobody wrote down.

Four leaks, and every one of them happens on the day the counter is three deep and the phone won't stop.

The unbilled hour

The tune-up that got done and never got charged

A mechanic finishes a bike and hands it over the counter. The labour never makes it onto a ticket, and nobody notices, because nothing is missing. The bike left happy.

The dead claim

The warranty that died in somebody's inbox

The claim was filed. The vendor never replied. Eight days later nothing reminds anyone, because the claim only ever existed as a note in a purchase-order field.

The quiet return

The rental that came back late and free

Out Friday, back Monday, and the late fee depended on somebody remembering what time Friday was. Deposits get released the same way.

The stalled bike

The estimate nobody chased

You sent a number and waited. The customer forgot. The bike held a stand for nine days, and a stand is the most expensive square foot in the building.

02 · Before you buy anything

Seven questions to ask a shop OS. Including this one.

Every serial, every service, every customer: your shop's history is going to live inside somebody's software. These are the questions worth asking before it does. Our answers are below each one, including the ones we'd rather not have to give.

Q1Can I export everything, today, without asking permission?

Why it matters. Export is the only thing standing between you and a vendor who changes their price, their terms, or their mind. If it takes a support ticket, it isn't export, it's a favour.

Ours. Yes. Full export from inside the product, whenever you want, in open formats, including after you cancel. No fee, no ticket, no waiting period.

Q2What happens to my shop if you go away?

Why it matters. Small software companies fail, get acquired, or lose the one person who understood the code. The question isn't whether that risk exists. It's what the vendor has done about it.

Ours. We're a studio with fifteen shipped builds, not a weekend project, and we're still smaller than the alternatives, so price that in. What we've done about it is make your exit unconditional: documented export formats, no proprietary lock, and your data readable without our software. Your shop's twenty years of history should never depend on our survival.

Q3Do you take a percentage of what I swipe?

Why it matters. Bundled card processing looks convenient until you compare the rate to what you had. On a shop doing real volume, a fraction of a point is worth more than the subscription.

Ours. No. Keep your own terminal and your own processor. We record the sale, the tax, and the total. We take nothing off your card volume, and we don't have a referral deal with a processor.

Q4Can a weekend hire see my margins?

Why it matters. Plenty of shop software hides sensitive screens in the interface while the underlying data stays reachable. Hidden is not the same as restricted.

Ours. No. Roles are enforced on the server for every request, not hidden in the interface. A floor role that asks for a margin gets refused by the system, not by a missing button.

Q5Is my data sitting in the same table as another shop's?

Why it matters. Most small-business software is multi-tenant. That's fine, it's how it stays affordable. What matters is whether isolation is enforced by the platform or by remembering to write the right query.

Ours. Tenant scoping is enforced at the platform layer, below the application, so a query that forgets its tenant doesn't return somebody else's rows. It returns nothing.

Q6What am I signing, and how do I leave?

Why it matters. An annual contract with auto-renewal is a bet the vendor makes on your inertia. Read what happens at renewal, and what happens to your data if you stop paying.

Ours. Month to month. Cancel from inside the product. No annual term, no auto-renewing year, no early-termination fee, and no clawback on a founding rate you already used.

Q7Who answers on a Saturday when the register won't open?

Why it matters. Ask for the actual path, not the promise. A support address that answers on Tuesday is fine for a report that looks wrong and useless when you can't take money.

Ours. A phone number that reaches the person who wrote the code, for a shop that can't take money. Email for everything else. We'll give you a real response time in writing before you sign, rather than publish one here we can't hold on a bad week.

Take these to every vendor you're considering. If a straight answer is hard to get for one of them, that's the answer.

03 · One bike, end to end

Six states. A bike can't skip one.

The board isn't a task list. It's the path a bike actually takes through your building. Every move is stamped with who did it and when.

Ticket #4468 Intake
Cannondale Topstone
STATE 01

Intake

Customer, bike, serial, and the complaint in their own words. Photos at drop-off, so a scratch argument three weeks later has an answer.

STATE 02

Inspection

A checklist run against the actual bike: what's worn, what's unsafe, what can wait until spring. The customer signs it on screen.

STATE 03

Estimate

Parts and labour priced from your own rates, sent while the bike is still in front of you. If it goes quiet, the board keeps asking.

STATE 04

On the stand

A timer runs against the ticket, not against somebody's memory at closing. Parts come off the shelf and onto the job as they're fitted.

STATE 05

Ready

The customer is told once, automatically, with the total they already approved. No second call, no surprise at the counter.

STATE 06

Paid

Tender recorded, stock drawn down, labour on the day's numbers, and the whole history stays attached to that serial forever.

04 · What’s in it

Four working areas. One subscription per location.

Unlimited staff and devices at that location. No per-seat arithmetic at the counter.

Workshop

The service board, digital inspections signed on screen, the schedule, and a timer that runs against the ticket instead of a guess.

05 · What it runs on

Your shop’s system should live at your shop’s address.

EZBike OS runs on eos, the multi-tenant platform behind EZDock. You shouldn't have to care about that, except in the four ways it changes what the software can do for a shop that grows.

  • It lives on your domain, not oursYour crew signs in at app.yourshop.com, not a vendor subdomain with your shop's name bolted on the front. Customers see your business, staff see your business, and the address is one you own.
  • The counter keeps working when the internet doesn'tTickets, tenders, time-clock punches, and waivers keep going on the station through an outage, then reconcile when the line comes back. A dead connection shouldn't close the till on a Saturday.
  • Second location, same loginAdd a shop, not a second system. Staff, roles, and reporting cross locations without a migration.
  • Roles that mean somethingA weekend hire sees the board and the register. They don't see margins, payroll, or your P&L.
  • Your data leaves with youExport any time, including after you cancel. Month to month, no annual contract in the doorway.
  • Your card volume stays yoursKeep your terminal and your processor. We record the sale, the tax, the total. We take nothing off what you swipe.

07 · Who you'd be dealing with

You can fire us.

EZBike OS is built by Vendetti Studios, a growth studio in California with fifteen shipped builds behind it: coffee brands, HVAC contractors, a logistics company, a couture label. It runs on eos, the platform we also built EZDock on for warehouse operators.

We've had one rule across every one of those builds: stop paying us and the thing you paid for keeps working. No buyout, no exit fee, no switching your business off on a billing date. This product is the same rule applied to software.

A vendor who can switch you off has very little reason to stay good at the job. When leaving is genuinely easy, the work has to be worth staying for , which is a better deal for you and a harder discipline for us. That's why every answer in the seven questions is written to survive us not being here.
